When we were kids our dad told us that spiders would save humanity. He said that in the event of a nuclear fallout, insects would multiply to the point of becoming a scourge. So we grew up with a great respect for spiders. I don’t know if the theory behind this has any scientific grounds. But still today I would not thread upon a spider, be it big or small.
